Recent paintings reflected in the eight works on Women’s Art Association of Canada web site, render abstract expressionistically a poetic vision painted in acrylics, mixed media, oils and cold wax.
Expressions of power and joy, peace and exuberance among garden, forest, ocean and urban images are seen in these paintings and collagraphs.
Artistic endeavours as certified Visual Art Specialist teacher and arts curriculum leader span decades.
Today Terry is showing her paintings inspired by this quote from famous Middlemarch by 19th Century English novelist George Eliot:
“If we had a keen vision and feeling of all ordinary human life, it would be like hearing the grass grow and the squirrel’s heart beat, and we should die of that roar which lies on the other side of silence.”
Terry searches her environment to express her personal awe and wonder upon imagining garden activity at night while she is sleeping
……and seeing this magically transformed garden at sunrise…brilliantly awakened…alive
Freshly renewed ….
She depicts her immense fascination as she sees and hears wildness occurring
as all garden life dances and transforms in darkness while her world sleeps.
Sometimes the dance in darkness is macabre
Mysterious
Scary and not always delightful …. So, she listens
Very carefully
In the quiet night while sleeping and
She wonders
Why? How? What?
